Gestational Carrier

A Gestational Carrier uses an embryo created from the egg and sperm of the intended parents or by way of the donor. The embryo is created and implanted through in-vitro fertilization. Gestational surrogates are not biologically related to the baby they carry.

If you are open to using a Gestational Carrier as an option for creating your family, we can help. Bringing a new life into the world is a deeply personal decision. By taking time to understand the details of how surrogacy works, you can step forward confidently, knowing that you’ve made an informed decision.

Our clinic and doctors provide the same level of excellent care while helping you manage your journey to parenthood via gestational carrier. Our services include:

  • Approving your gestational carrier with a thorough screening process to ensure she is a good candidate for the journey
  • Monitoring medication and cycle to prepare for transfer
  • Carrying out IVF transfer
  • Continued monitoring until released to OB doctor 6 weeks after confirmation of pregnancy

Gestational Carrier allows patients the opportunity to try to conceive a child in cases where the intended mother cannot carry the pregnancy herself. Gestational Carriers are also used for same-sex male couples interested in using donor eggs.

Columbia Fertility Associates does not recruit Gestational Carriers, however, we can put you in contact with partner organizations who do.
